Events The WSA Winners Conference and Awards Ceremony Dr. Winnie Tang attended Winners' Conference of the World Summit Award (WSA) from 3 Nov to 5 Nov 2007, in her capacity as the President of Internet Professional Association (iProA). The World Summit Award (WSA) is a global initiative to select and promote the world's best e-Content, started in 2003 in the framework of the United Nations' World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). The aim of the WSA Winners Conference in Venice is to produce a truly optimistic showcase for bridging the Digital Divide and Content Gap. All Winners from the WSA 07 have been invited to present their projects and discuss for two days with peers topics from e-Learning to e-Health and from e-Entertainment to e-Inclusion.
iProA, the sole official partner for WSA in China, had nominated 8 projects to participate in the WSA Award 2007, to compete with more than 24,000 projects submitted from 163 countries. 3 projects became the winners of the WSA Award 2007, in the categories of e-Entertainment ("Xplus Personalized Digital Media Distribution Platform"), e-Business ("DigitalCopyright.hk"), and e-Science ("China Digital Science and Technology Museum"). Only 40 projects were named winners in the Award and as quoted from WSA's press release, "China... is the clear winner in the 2007 World Summit Awards which show the global trends in e-Content within the United Nations Member States." ¡@
