Seminar on “Digital Lifestyle: Inspirations for Quality of Life” at

Hong Kong Computer and Communications Festival 2007

The 2nd seminar in the Digital Lifestyle Series was successfully concluded on Aug 25 at the Hong Kong Computer and Communications Festival 2007 (HKCCF 2007). Titled “Digital Lifestyle: Inspirations for Quality of Life” the seminar attracted a large audience at the HKCCF 2007, which well-served as a platform for industry leaders to show the general public about the importance of leveraging the strength of Hong Kong to position ourselves as a key player of Digital Lifestyle in Asia.

We were honored by the presence of our President Dr. Winnie Tang who delivered a Welcome Remarks to express the importance of developing Digital Lifestyle in Hong Kong. Special thanks were delivered to Mr. Nicholas Yang, Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, Mr. Andrew Wong, Director Small and MidMarket Solutions & Partners, Microsoft Hong Kong Limited, Mr. NiQ Lai, CFO and Head of Staff Engagement Department of CityTelecom (HK) Limited, and Mr. Gerund Cheung, Co-Chairman of Special Interest Group in Digital Content and New Media of iProA, and the General Manager of China Division and Content Business Department of New Media Group, who shared their views on the impact of technologies on different facets of our life such as communication, media and entertainment, knowledge sharing and transmission. Their insights served as valuable guideposts for the future direction of digital lifestyle development in Hong Kong.

The seminar was well-attended by 100 participants who mainly come from the community. As a further step to extend our effort into Mainland China and foster cross-border collaboration, our next seminar under the Digital Lifestyle Series will be held at the 3rd International Conference on Digital City. iProA also co-organized a Cocktail Reception with the Chamber of Hong Kong Computer Industry on Aug 24 at the HKCCF 2007. It provided a great opportunity for IT professionals to mingle and share experience with each other.
