SIG in Venture Capital and New Business Development: Breakfast Meeting

The Breakfast Meeting was held on 6 August 2007. It was organised by Hong Kong Information Technology Industry Council (HKITIC) of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, co-sponsored by iProA Special Interest Group Venture Capital and New Business Development and Hong Kong IT Alliance. The topic of the breakfast meeting was “TMT (telecom, media, and technology) Investments: What do VCs look for?”

We were glad to invite Mr. Vincent Chun-Hung CHAN (陳鎮洪) as the speaker. He is Managing Director - North Asia JAFCO Asia, President of the HK Venture Capital and Private Equity Association. In 2005, Mr. Chan was awarded as “Most Influential Venture Capitalists in China" by Capital Magazine (PRC) and in 2006 awarded as "One of China's Best Venture Capitalists" by Forbes Magazine.

The presentation gave a practical insight into the most vexing and commonly encountered issues around raising funds and/ or getting mentorship by individual IT businesses, SMEs, or ambitious amateurs with a promising project/ new venture.
