Opening Ceremony of The Government Wi-Fi Program

To exchange views with the Government, industry associations and professional bodies on the development and adoption of wireless and mobile technologies in the Government as well as in Hong Kong, the opening ceremony of the government Wi-Fi Programme was held on 31 July at the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre.

HKSAR Government aims to make broadband Internet access available to all citizens in Hong Kong. With the provision of Wi-Fi facilitates to about 350 Government premises, the Government Wi-Fi Programme will further enhance the mobility of access to the Internet and thereby improving the quality of living and business operations for the whole city. The Opening Ceremony was to make the launch of the Wi-Fi programme and related roving shows. Our Vice President, Mr. Stanley Cheung and our Executive Committee member, Mr. Kenny Chien were invited to attend the opening ceremony to exchange the view of the wireless and mobile technologies with other guests.
