World Summit Award 2007 ¡V Nomination for China

The nomination of China entries for the World Summit Award (WSA) 2007 was successfully concluded on May 29, 2007. Four projects from Hong Kong and four projects from China were selected for the eight categories, namely, e-Learning, e-Culture, e-Science, e-Government, e-Health, e-Business, e-Entertainment and e-Inclusion of the Award.  The Judge Panel included Mr. Gao Xinmin, Executive Vice President of Internet Society of China, and Mr. Hu Yanping, Director of the Exchange and Development Centre of Internet Society of China, Mr. Nicholas Yang, CEO of Cyberport Management Company Limited, Ir. Albert Leung, Honorary Secretary of Gas & Energy Division, The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, Miss Cally Chan, Country Manager of Hewlett-Packard HK SAR Limited and our Co-founder and Immediate Past President Dr. Elizabeth Quat, and our President Dr. Winnie Tang. 

 

The WSA is a global contest for selecting and promoting the world's best e-contents and applications.  It adopts the bridging of digital divide and narrowing of content gap as its overall goal.  This contest is organized on the worldwide basis and it is anticipated to have over 170 countries to apply and be nominated. Meanwhile, the applications will be evaluated by the Grand Jury formed with national experts from more than 100 countries.  Any website, business, product or individuals which fulfill the judging criteria and rules are welcomed to apply.

 

iProA has been collaborating with the Internet Society of China to organize the China Nomination of WSA since 2003.  We will continue to foster collaborations with the ICT organizations in the mainland and enhance the international presence of Hong Kong's technology and innovative business.
