Industry Forum on the Government Wi-Fi Programe

 

Organized by Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO), the Industry Forum on the Government Wi-Fi Programme will be held at the Hong Kong Conventation and Exhibition Centre on 3 April 2007.

 

The Financial Secretary has, in his 2007 / 08 Budget Estimate, announced a Programme to deploy about $210 million in the coming 2 years to install Wi-Fi facilities at the major Government premises, including public libraries, major cultural and recreational centers, community halls, large parks and those government offices that are frequently visited by the public.

 

To enable industry players to have better ideas of the planned Wi-Fi Programme and to facilitate views exchanges on the subject, the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) will arrange an Industry Forum on 3 April 2007.
