Hong Kong ICT Awards 2013: Best Innovation & Research Award

 

 

Supported by Office of the Govenrment Chief Information Officer, The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Hong Kong Productivity Council and Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Hong Kong ICT Awards 2013: Best Innovation & Research Award is now open for entries. Students, innovators from all companies and organizations are welcome to submit entries. Past winners included Hospital Authority, Hong Kong Baptist University, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Shun Tak Fraternal Association Yung Yau College and Our Lady of China Catholic Primary School.

 

  The Best Innovation & Research Awards divided into 4 streams:

The achievements of the Awards winners will be made aware by customers, organisations, the ICT industry practitioners and the entire community. Winners will be entitled:

  • to receive the Hong Kong ICT Awards Gold / Silver / Bronze trophies or certificates;
  • to display the official logo of the Hong Kong ICT Awards in their promotional materials;
  • to be arranged to participate in various promotional campaigns to publicise their achievements;
  • to be assisted in entering into other international awards and competitions;
  • to the sponsorship offer from Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks of the “fast track admission to the HKSTP Incu-Tech and Incu-Bio Incubation Programme; and
  • to the sponsorship offer from Cyberport of free subscription of Collaboration Centre's services including the soft-landing, business support services, etc.

You are cordially invited to join a Business Networking Happy Hour jointly organized by Internet Professional Association, Junior Chamber International Hong Kong (國際青年商會香港總會) (JCIHK) and several different associations on 25-October-2012.   It is a great chance to meet other young professionals and entrepreneurs from various industries and expand your network!

1. Please fill in the online registration form at least 1 day before the event. We may not accept late or walk-in enrolment if the event is full.
2. Payment will be made in the reception of the venue on the event day. We will only accept cash or cheque payment.
3. Priority will be given to members of the organizer and co-organizers. The Ubiquitous Cloud Era Begins

During the last two years, organizations' level of understanding of where and how cloud can be used has increased in depth and become more widespread across industry types and organization size. With the breadth and the quality of services available from cloud vendors also increasing dramatically since the peak of the cloud hype in 2009, cloud services have grown beyond their initial use for cost reduction or replacement of non-critical but opex-heavy applications, such as email and under-utilized server farms, and have broadened their applicability due to the increased availability of enterprise-class applications.

By 2015, cloud technologies and services will not exist on a discrete basis, but will be integrated into every facet of business service delivery. At that stage, IT executives will be asked to manage a hybrid environment of on-premises, outsourced, managed and cloud-sourced services. On the surface, not much difference to 2012, except that all services will be based upon virtualized, standardized and scalable platforms.
