Call for Nominations of Final Year IT Projects for the China Pan-Pearl River Delta Region (泛珠三角地) University IT Project Competition 2013
Dear Friends,

Call for Nominations of Final Year IT Projects for the China Pan-Pearl River Delta Region (泛珠三角地) University IT Project Competition 2013

We are glad to have the chance to send this invitation to you and hope you can nominate your students and refer to the right contact persons for us. I was one of graduates in Computer Science and I understand the importance of having the chance to have exchange of our IT-related FYP among students among different institutions. Also, we can introduce both new technologies and our good students to the industry and general public. It is the 8th year for us and iProA to hold this meaningful event. On behalf of Internet Professional Association(iProA), we would like to invite you to nominate the best three IT-related final year projects (FYP) from your department/faculty to participate in the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region University IT Project Competition 2013 (http://www.strikingly.com/panprd2013). Outstanding FYPs will be selected to participate in an open exposition to be held on 8th June 2013(Sat) in the first round judging in Hong Kong.

The Competition is organized by the ShenZhen Computer Federation (深圳市計算機學會) with iProA as the co-organizer for the Hong Kong region.


This project aims to recognize the academic achievements of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) projects in the Pan-PRD region, including Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou andYunnan (nine provinces) in China, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR and Taiwan. Through participation in this event, the following goals are to be achieved:

- Encourage academic exchange, fellowship establishment and collective improvement

- Promote internal and external collaboration between Hong Kong and the Pan-PRD region

- Bridge market needs with computer applications
- Cater to society’s need on computer talents

Four outstanding project teams from universities will be short-listed to represent Hong Kong in the final round of the Competition, which is held on 27th-30th June 2013. Selected project teams will be offered free transport, meals and accommodation to compete with the representatives from more than 250 universities from the Pan-PRD region, Macao and Taiwan.

Being the 8th Anniversary of this cross-border competition, tremendous public attention has been attracted over the years. Last year, the Competition attracted over 250 undergraduate students from 12 local universities and institutions. It will be an excellent opportunity for your students to demonstrate their ingenious projects in front of the regional ICT business leaders which will bring them insight, experience and career opportunities from such a high-profile event. Employers from the I.T. discipline will also be invited to the exposition to select potential students for the internship opportunity.
