iProA Services

On the public service front, iProA is a key member of the ITFC Advisory Committee of the Legislative Council, which is the main shaper of information technology related policies in Hong Kong. We are also a member of the Central Co-ordination Committee of the Home Affairs Department which leads the effort in promotion of IT usage amongst women; a member of the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council; a member of the Chinese Language Interface Advisory Committee; as well as a member of a number of Committees on Promotion of IT Usage of various District Councils. We believe that iProA's vigorous promotion of Internet technology and its application has direct impact in much wider use of Internet in Hong Kong today.

Build upon the success of our efforts in arousing awareness on Internet related issues, the Web Care Committee of iProA initiated the Web Care Campaign, aimed at bridging the digital divide in Hong Kong. The Committee has organised numerous events to educate corporate executives on how to solve Internet accessibility problems faced by disabled persons and provided assistance to web programmers, authors and producers on ways to enhance accessibility of their web site for these groups.
