The e-Inclusion Campaign, supported by more than 100 organizations, aims to promote a barrier free Internet environment and provide needy communities with equal opportunities in sharing the benefits brought about by the development of Internet in Hong Kong. The event will continue to be organized by Internet Professional Association (iProA) this year and the Kick-off Ceremony was successfully held on 26 January 2008 at Innocentre. The Chairman of the e-Inclusion Campaign 2007 – 08 is Mr. Witman Hung, Vice President of iProA.
Mr. Jason Pun, Chief Systems Manager of Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, was the Guest of Honor at the Kick-off Ceremony. During his speech Mr. Pun explained that the government will continue to support the e-Inclusion Campaign this year.Dr. Winnie Tang, President of iProA, expressed her desire to see the Campaign continuously promote Internet usage and bridge the digital divide effectively in Hong Kong.
This year, the Campaign will include the “Web Care Award” and the “School Web Care”. iProA is pleased to have the Intellectual Property Department as co-organizer of the “School Web Care”, to help promote and educate users on the importance of respecting intellectual property rights.
iProA will continue to make contributions towards the building of a digitally inclusive society by bridging the digital divide in various communities with different needs this year.
