Dear iProA Members & Friends,
Kung Hei Fat Choy!
With this short month in February packed with holidays, most of our attention lately probably is on the Budget for 2010-11. I am indeed grateful to see more mentioning of IT and related issues, in particular the $500M earmarked for the purpose of bridging digital divide. For a number of years, iProA has in many occasions advocated the need in this area and I am glad that the Budget this year has answered this need. The Policy Committee has
responded to the Budget which you may like to read through at your leisure.
Another major venture for us in February is the setting up of
OSP Alliance between iProA and some 10 Online Services Providers in Hong Kong which has attracted wide media coverage. The reaction from the general public has been positive as more people are aware of the need to agree to some sort of best practices in the on-line platform. I encourage members to get involved in the upcoming activities and event with stakeholders to share your thoughts and inputs.
For our upcoming events in March, the office shall provide further details in due course. May I take this opportunity to wish you good health and a prosperous Year of the Tiger!
With warm regards,
Dr. Winnie Tang, JP (鄧淑明博士)
